SOMA Festival 2016 : Float Making Contest

Here at Asia Pacific College, we require to build a large float in just one term.So we need to separate into two groups that there will be two floats in one block. Also, we need to list of the important materials to make a perfect float that we need to save budget. We can show teamwork as a whole class in ABMA153 so that we can finish as early as possible. At least my group are planning to finish it easier. If the other group in our block are finish, they will help us of the remaining parts of the float or to add more designs whether they were giving a suggestions.

Last March 29, 2016 is the start of the School of Multimedia Arts this school year. I came to school early at 6:00 am because of the preparations of the float making contest. The theme of the SOMA Festival is "Philippine Mythology" or "Folklore". I'm so surprise that all the floats are amazing and scary. We finished our float in 1 and the half month and also we prepare of our presentation in our block. We are just practice our dance presentation in one day only. The first of the program is the parade. We need to walk from APC to Lapu-Lapu, then Lapu-Lapu back to APC. Why do we have a parade? Because we show how the floats are more artistic and more design. After the parade, we're going to present our program presentation about the story of the 2 floats in our block. We present a short act and an awesome dance MOB "Albatraoz".

After a few days, we finally go to the School of Multimedia Art Awards 2016 that means they will announce top 3 of the best floats and the rest to the contest in SOMA Festival. We're so glad that we rank 1st runner up of the best float making contest this year. I'm so happy to be with ABMA153!!

Speech Choir and Ignite Competition

Speech Choir and Ignite Speech competition is held today at the auditorium ( last day of classes ) The moment I entered the auditorium, a lot of students were wearing their different costumes, some were wearing costumes or props while some were wear black and red cloth on their shoulders. Colors like red, black and white! You can see the power and excitement for the last day of the competition this year and there is a battle in Different courses of School of Engineering and the School of Multimedia Arts of their different Ignite Speeches and Speech Choir performance. We thank all the English department for the successful that they will stay together until now. I hope will be see each other on the next term and this is the last term of the English term beacuse of the Senior high school.
The first one to perform in the speech choir was us, ABMA 153 and ABMA 155. We were wearing black shirt and black leggings also we use costume a black cloth for us only and a white shirt and white leggings with white cloth only for the free bird will wear it. We were nervous before the competition because we practiced a week but we polish the steps and buy black cloths for the costume and leggings for those who doesn't have black leggings before the competition. But we still did a good job! The second is that there is a representative in our block to present her ignite speech and its all about FANGIRL!! Public Speaking Competition : "Integrity has no need or Rules"

Today, we attend to the Public Speaking Competition at the Auditorium in Asia Pacific College (APC).  As we all know that this term is the final English term this year because of the Senior High School in APC. It’s ok that this will be the best English competition of my entire life. So, we’re going to cheer of our blockmate that they are compete in the Integrity Speech in Speech Communication. The contestant will be presenting in their room assignment, while the audience will have their own games in Public Speaking. After the game, our professor, Sir Nomer Yuzon will announce the top 8. I glad that our participant, Tyron Santos, is in the top 8 speakers. They will presenting again but there will be a question and answer from the judges. The theme of this Integrity Speech is "Integrity has no need of Rules".

So what is Integrity? Integrity is important for politicians because they are chosen, appointed, or elected to serve society. In order to be able to serve, politicians are given power in their positions to make, execute, or control policy and Integrity is not something you show others. It is how you behave behind their back. So, I have an example of the Integrity. The distinguished career of the former and the widespread confidence in his ability and political integrity had marked him for the most important position in the Cabinet; and there had been a general demand that the new administration should utilize the organizing ability displayed by Hoover in many fields. Also, I have another example about Integrity. Sometimes her old fashioned moral standards were a point of contention, but her integrity was never under question.

We don’t know that who will be the winner of the Integrity Speech for the Public Speaking Competition. I hope that our block will win for sure.

Phantom of the Opera

Last April 13, We watched the movie "Phantom of the Opera" for our EEP Class at the AVR. Our Last film showing for this class.

I was able to watch this my own, when I watched it, I was so amazed. The flow of the show is really good, I love their voice, since I also love music and I love singing. As you may have surmised from the title, it is filmed at the Royal Albert Hall in London, which is enormous and beautiful and perfect for this production. The set is gorgeous as well, leaving room for a large live orchestra onstage, along with an enormous cast and flawless costumes. The entire time I was watching it I just kept thinking about how amazing it would have been to see it in person. Aside from the never-ending beautiful voices singing on the movie that as I was not able to take my eyes off the screen, the story itself is fascinating. There’s a drag when the movie is starting to get boring there will be some comedic moments. Known as the Phantom who is a deformed genius who escaped from a freak show, and was presumed dead, but that he still lives somewhere in the Opera House, fell in love with a singer named Christine. Unfortunately for him, Christine met her childhood sweetheart Raoul and they fell in love. The Phantom decided to kidnap and imprison her because of the thought that by doing such, Christine will love him back. But life is not such kind of a thing. I strongly believe that someone is destined to be yours. Someone who will appreciate all your efforts. Someone you love, and will love you back.

At the end, Andrew Lloyd Webber appeared, thanked the creatives, remembered the deceased, and was otherwise supremely awkward. They came on and sang 'The Music of the Night'. Michael Crawford was there, but didn't sing. Sarah Brightman arrived and sang the title song with the accumulated Phantoms. I think she was lip-synching. Nevertheless, the original musical is absolutely gorgeous as it is the best production I’ve discovered yet.

Benjamin Alves's Birthday Celebration @ APC

Last March 18, 2016 during our Expository Writing, our teacher said that we have a seminar in the MPH1 at APC. When we entered in a venue, we totally surprise that there is a birthday celebration in our school. The name of the birthday celebrant is Benjamin Alves. He is a teen artist in GMA and a role of Andrew from the movie "Sana Dati". This is my first time that we have a birthday party during a class time at APC.

First, I join the mini game while waiting for Benjamin Alves comes in APC. I was so curious that day because my blockmates wanted me to join the game called "Pinoy Henyo" and I just wanted to celebrate also my birthday because my birthday is on March 19.
After a few minutes, the doors finally opened where the star of the GMA7 Benjamin Alves showed up in front of us. While he is walking into the stage, the crowd sings the usual song “Happy birthday”.  Next is that he will be the judge for a poetry competition with the students as participants and he also held a mini poetry talk after.

The highlight, however, is him delivering his own poem. Some students are tweeted Ben to check if we can publish here his work and he later responded that it would be published very soon. Looks like we all have to wait for that. For now, we are posting one of his poems which he wrote for Valentine's Day two months ago.
He wanted to say thanks for allowing him to spend an afternoon with the students and listen in to their poetry. He reminds him to stay graceful, because the people that love him wish for him to stay so. Such a blessing to have a birthday celebration this big, as he usually just have it with family. But he glad to say his family continues to grow.

Paddington

Last March 3, I finished 8 blogs for my English Enrichment Program (EEP) requirements in Mid-Term. Although I do nothing on that day, so I rather watch the movie "Paddington" for our EEP Class at the AVR so that I can add it up to make it 15 blogs.
Last March 3, I finished 8 blogs for my English Enrichment Program (EEP) requirements in Mid-Term. Although I do nothing on that day, so I rather watch the movie "Paddington" for our EEP Class at the AVR so that I can add it up to make it 15 blogs.
The story is about the adventures of a cute bear named Paddington. The he-bear was orphaned at a much younger age and lived with his uncle and aunt in the woods of Peru. One day, an explorer from London came to the forest and developed a close friendship with the bear family. He is forced to leave for London after an earthquake destroys his home and is told that he should find the explorer who met his aunt and uncle. When he gets to London, he is discovered by the Brown family; Henry (Hugh Bonneville), Mary (Sally Hawkins), Judy (Madeline Harris) and Jonathan (Samuel Joslin), who name him after the train station where they met him. Paddington comes to the attention of Millicent (Nicole Kidman), a taxidermist who thinks he would be a great addition to her collection. Its story is nothing really original, playing out similar to other narratives that have come before and charts a predictable course towards movie’s ending. From a visual look, Paddington’s world is built well and imaginative. Paddington is mostly geared towards them with childish jokes, gags, and Paddington’s numerous accidents that are misconstrued as tomfoolery. Adults might pick up a more mature joke here and there or might even get a little tiresome of watching all the juvenile physical slapstick on-screen, but this particular movie speaks more to a younger audience.

The movie did a wonderful job to show the elements of London to the world. The film also revealed the negative side of the city, the indifference of its people at the station, the darkness and cruelty of the Association Geography, two opposite attitudes from sentries and so on. Even so, life is always beautiful. So long as we are kind and brave, we will be happy.

Turn Left, Turn Right. The Movie

“Life is full of coincidences…even two parallel limns might someday meet”
I believe in love at first sight. A sudden surge of emotion may bound two people together and it's not yet love. Love is something you develop through ages and it may be tested through time. Love is more than just an emotion. It is more than just an affection. But I do believe in fate. I believe in destiny. I believe you not only meet people by chance - you meet people for a reason. People will love you or hurt you, will make you laugh or will make you cry, will keep you or just let go of you, and it will all happened for a reason.

Sometimes we have to be hurt for us to be fixed. We have to be left behind for us to be found. That sometimes we have to be separated for 13 years of time for us to appreciate the beauty of uncertainties in life. I love the film inspired by the book authored by Jimmy Liao. Although I am not a fan of love at first sight, I appreciate how he was able to showcase the meaning of destiny. If two people are destined for each other, regardless of whatsoever, they'll be together. Being separated for more than a decade, having no means of communication, losing each other’s phone numbers, not knowing each other’s name – are just the beginning of the story. If you are meant to be, you will be. God moves in miraculous ways.
I like this movie a lot because I believe in fate/destiny. Even the two persons are far from each other, if they are meant to be, they will see each other someday. There's nothing wrong believing in destiny. Some people are getting frustrated because they don't have love life like their friends because someday you'll find the right one and you can make your own love story. You don't need to rush things because you're destined to someone. Some things are destined to be, it just takes us a couple of tries to get there. Everyone got the right to decide his/her own destiny.
