Sana Dati
So we're almost end of our midterm of the English Enrichment Program (EEP) this term. Last february 24 2016, We watched the 4th movie for our English blog entitle “Sana Dati”. It tells about that Andrea and her past revisited at the day of her wedding. I never expected that this film is so more romantic and . It is not film of a typical love story with a happy ending that we usually see, but a love story mirroring reality.
It is about Andrea, whose life goes on despite the tragedy of her one true love perishing. It is about Dennis, who is about to marry a girl who does not love him. It is about Andrew, who stirs trouble in somebody else’s romantic affairs.
Opening with a proposal by Andrew to Andrea, the film immediately cuts to the day of a wedding. Dennis is introduced, carrying into the hotel various camera equipment he barely knows how to use. He finally arrives in Andrea’s room, where he proceeds to interview her, throwing questions about her love for Robert. Andrea directly answers the questions, her eyes avoiding the camera. Dennis does the same for Robert. Dennis answers the questions, with his eyes directly upon the camera. It clearly shows the love of Dennis for Andrea.
Andrea’s love for Andrew is so deep and strong that made his heart stopped. It is the kind of love that brought her so much sorrow to accept and go on with new life without him in it. How ironic it is, sometimes it is hard to feel so happy cause you know at some point a sad story comes after. Finally the love of Andrew, it is the kind of love every girl will ask for. Having a detailed plan for your future, unending surprises, who will do everything to be with you even if you know that you will not stay for long because of the sickness you have been enduring and curing. Andrew and Andrea have their best laid plans that comes to a point that they try to run away and escape reality to pursue it but just because of feeling that brought too much happiness changed everything.
Sana Dati makes us feel what we ought to feel at that very moment. Sometimes people tends to be selfish thinking that what they decide for that person what he or she ought to do. Yes they have strong points to discuss but whatever they say they still cannot feel exactly the way I feel towards a particular situation that I am going through. I think it is not about the age, experiences but it is about what you really feel like to do without your mind being disturbed that I will regret this one day.
